What are we going to do to fix this problem?

We propose to build a parking structure in one of the "Y" lots south of campus.

How much is the structure going to cost?

According to information provided by parking.org the proposed parking structure will cost approximately 8 million dollars.

How many parking spots will this provide?

The parking structure will provide 500+ parking spaces.

Where are we going to get the funds to build the structure?

Currently the parking is free for students but in years past they have charged for parking. We think that if we charge students again in order to provide the funds to build the structure it can help cut out some of the cost each year.

What are we going to do while the parking structure is being built?

According to the BYU Police website, BYU campus is meant to be a walking campus. In order to deal with parking issues, Campus Poice recommend parking in Y lots further from campus and walking. Although this may not be desireable for some it is a reasonable solution to a long term fix.
